In the Spring of 2002, photographer Charles "Chuck" Cecil of
McAllen, TX traveled three weeks and about 7,000 miles throughout
all the counties of  New Mexico , looking for the word " New Mexico ",
to be incorporated into a travel poster titled:
"LOOKING FOR NEW MEXICO"

Santa Anita Gallery is proud to present for the first time in the
Region fourteen of the images Chuck photographed as well as the final New Mexico poster.

"The project was an original idea of my friend, Rick Vanderpool of Commerce, TX who contracted with thirty photographers to cover all fifty states" said Charles Cecil.

For more information on the different posters produced, contact
Rick Vanderpool at (903-450-6800) or visit at www.stateart.net.

"Moods" by Raquel Hinojosa

Hinojosa has momentarily turned from Teen Horses to well rounded (pun intended) ordinary people and moody feelings.  "A documentary on teen depression inspired me to originate this new series in order to create a bridge between understanding and communication".  The series of acrylic paintings is also accompanied by a collection of papier mache sculptures all twisted into their own personal pain, happiness, void and singleness.

"Banana Leaves"  by Claudia Garza

"The imitation of life in my artwork is exactly that.  Devoid of hidden meanings or agendas, it is simply a reverence of nature on canvas".
-Claudia Garza
